Consider how the prominence of “Olive Garden” and “Red Lobster” has changed over time and what this might suggest about their impact on American culture.

Olive Garden:

1990’s: 6-13

2000’s:  28-29

2010’s: 45-46

Red Lobster:

1990’s: 20-38

2000’s: 32-27

2010’s: 31-28

Analysis: although there was a low frequency  between the 1990’s olive garden was still a known restaurant. As time goes on I would say the increase in frequency would be an outcome of them moving online to place reservations in the restaurant.

Analysis: the fluctuations of increase and drecrease are probably a result of changes to the menu and possible news coverage of the brand.

Report: the changes of “Olive Garden” and “Red Lobster” have impacted American culture by showing up on the news and old tv shows as references to their popularity, like Will & Grace. They’re both places the general American have dinner at for special occasions and big groups. The popularity trends show Olive Garden as increasing in popularity, which shows the American public’s attraction to their unlimited pasta, soup, and salad deals. Meanwhile, Red Lobster isn’t trending upward as much compared to Olive Garden. They do not have as many popular, well-known deals, meaning Red Lobster’s is not as significant in American culture.
